Discovering Jamaica: A Personal Journey Through the Land of My Birth
"This is the land of my birth; I say this is the land of my birth
I say this is Jamaica, my Jamaica, the land of my birth." ~ song by Eric Donaldson
Upon the cusp of approaching my 30th year, my friends and I decided to kickoff our "DIRTY 30s" with a girls trip to the island of Jamaica (bap bap).
When the idea came up to go to Jamaica to start off the celebration, I was super elated!! I had not been back home since I left in 2001. My mind began racing with all the thoughts of the sights, sounds, smells, and the tastes ((OMG THE TASTES)) to come. The taste alone would have been my main selling point for me to go - coconut, guava, soursop, festival, banana chips, patty, juneplum, the jerk (let's take sec to mediate on the jerk real quick)....Okay, back to the scheduled program.
